ACE Leadership Curriculum

ACE Leadership - or arts and cultural education leadership - is a new pedagogy pioneered by Jeff M. Poulin integrating the theories of arts entrepreneurship, cultural policy studies, and educational futures to prepare the next generation of leaders working in the cultural and education sectors.

The aim of this work is to prepare leaders who are equipped to drive future change within the cultural and education ecosystems and develop sustainable systems which cultivate the creative capacities of young people.

Beginning with an assumption of mastery in the individual arts, cultural, or education practice, the curriculum builds on a foundation of research conducted by Poulin around the United States from 2014-2018 interrogating the perceived attributes of leaders in the arts education field. It was further explored throughout 2020 with arts, culture, and education leaders and practitioners around the world to develop updates frameworks and inform leadership development.

Participants will creatively examine the findings from the action research through the theoretical foundations of arts entrepreneurship and educational futures to hone their skills and future strategies focused on shifting paradigms and innovating practice in their own professional contexts.
