Rachael Osgood

Former Research & Documentation Specialist

Rachael Osgood (she/her) served as the Research & Documentation Specialist from June - September 2021.

Rachael originally began working with Creative Generation in 2020 as a member of their national advisory committee which formed in partnership with ArtPlace America to examine emerging research on the intersections of Arts, Culture, and Youth Development. She currently studies Sustainable Development and Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh, splitting time between Edinburgh, Scotland and her hometown of Austin, Texas.

Rachael has worked with a variety of human rights, public health, and climate justice organizations in the UK as a policy analyst, advocate, public speaker, and movement builder. She takes great reference from narrative-based practices and has published work on the need for structural immigration reform in Scotland, Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery in the UK, and the nuances of youth activism. She has certifications from Harvard University, Common Purpose/U21, and the Clinton Global Initiative Program. During her time in the UK, she has served as Climate Justice Coordinator at UN House Scotland, as a researcher with Scotland’s only student-led think tank, and as a patient companion at a national hospice centre.

In conjunction with her studies, Rachael is a visual artist and portraitist with a strong background in public and community arts practices. In this, she places particular weight on the importance of social justice, civic engagement, and creative practices as means of cultivating agency and fostering equitable inter-generational change.

After Creative Generation, Rachael returned to her studies.
