The Tennessee Art Education Association (TAEA) presented Creative Generation with the 2022 Friend of TAEA Award.
TAEA presented the award in a virtual ceremony. TAEA leader, James Wells said, “we thank you for your partnership through the Social Justice Art Education Institute, where you helped us to build the collective capacity of our educators through equity, diversity, and inclusion. We thank you for your leadership.”
The mission of the Tennessee Art Education Association is to advance quality visual arts educations and to promote a cohesive professional community through advocacy, leadership, and professional development. The areas that TAEA focuses on are Learning, Community, Advocacy, Research and Knowledge, and Organizational Vibrancy utilizing a lens of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
“This award is reserved for someone that is a "friend" to the field of Art Education and TAEA. The awardee has assisted in the mission and vision of the TAEA organization,” said Dr. David G.Meade, TAEA President-Elect and Awards Committee Chair. “Awardees are nominated by a member of the organization and are scored by a blind panel based on a rubric on the categories of Support to the field of art education, Being part of NAEA/TAEA Activities, Achievements in the field of art education, and Contributions to the field of art education.”
