Creative Generation Supports Programs in Response to COVID-19

Creative Generation has been actively monitoring the global pandemic of COVID-19 through resources provided by the World Health Organization and national health agencies. We are actively supporting meaningful discussion within the field - including this archived webinar.

Below, please find a comprehensive, yet flexible and responsive, list of the impact on our programs and initiatives.

The Campaign for a Creative Generation

The Campaign will continue with its normal activities, intentionally focusing on digital delivery of content and amplifying voices affected by COVID-19. Please feel free to share artistic responses to this global pandemic or tools and resources for the field through this form

The Gen C Incubator

In general, Creative Generation is acting in compliance with guidance from the office of health or disease control in the country where the program is primarily operating. In specific instances, we have made decisions about programming:

Arts Management Exchange – With programs set to begin on Tuesday, March 17, the program has been cancelled. In consultation with the sponsoring university, the governments of Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, as well as with the hosts and venues with which we were partnering – we feel that it is in the interest of the health and wellbeing of participants to cancel activities. Participants, partners, hosts, and other stakeholders have been notified.

Leadership Network for Arts Education & Special Needs – The in-person meeting, which was to be held on Friday April 3 in Boston, MA has been moved to a virtual convening for the same day from 2:00-4:00pm ET. More details have been communicated to participants.

Pretzel Theatre Collective, Shelby County Schools ArtsFest!, and the Theatre & Policy Salon – For these projects we will be following the guidance of the hosting organization – school, venue, or theatre – regarding the cancellation or postponement of activities.

For all other activities, we are actively working with stakeholders to navigate the often complex and ever-changing policies of their governing health agencies.

The Gen C Academy

Creative Generation is working closely with partner and host organizations to modify or adapt the curricula being delivered to best achieve outcomes for participants.

The Gen C Institute

Activities will continue as normal, as no in-person data collection or research is being conducted at this time.
