Creative Generation’s 100th Blog Post

The concept of the creative generation - and, more importantly how we work together - has been discussed on a theoretical level for years. As a team, many of us have known each other for years through our work around the globe - it’s both amazing and surreal that Creative Generation as a global NGO is over one year old!

As the Director of Community & Engagement, it is such a pleasure to be an official part of the team. Recently, I began to comb through all of the amazing content that has been aggregated on our website throughout work on the many projects we have contributed to. With my expertise is in marketing, design, and organizational planning, it was with great interest that I went through every blog post in the archive to categorize and tag them to increase the usability of our website with the growing number of members, contributors, partners, and other stakeholders who visit our website every day.

And it was in that process that I realized we were about to hit our 100th post.

Never one to neglect a promotional opportunity, I asked our team what that post should be and we decided that we need to pay tribute to the amazing contributors from over 40 countries on all six continents!

In skimming — and categorizing — 99 blog posts, the thing that struck me was the diversity of experiences. There are posts in the form of interviews, reflections, and distillations of research. There are posts about visual arts, dance, theatre, and music. There are stories from the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania and the Pacific Islands — and stories that span the entire globe.

As a theatre stage manager, turned opera and events stage manager, turned arts administrator, turned visual artist and designer, I have an affinity for folks that wear a lot of hats. And the same can be said of organizations and consortiums that do the same.

I’m proud of all that Creative Generation has accomplished as the Campaign for a Creative Generation, the Institute for Creative Social Transformation, the Incubator for Creative Impact, and the Academy for Creative Leadership and if you’re not familiar, I hope you’ll search through the newly organized archives of our blog for whatever you’re interested in. I bet you’ll find what you’re searching for (pro tip: there’s now a search function!)

To get started, you can begin by searching by global region:

Next, you can search by post tag, which includes global region, category (like interview, thought piece, research, etc), associated project (from the Incubator for Creative Impact), art form, and more. Check it out here:

Finally, you can search the archive - much of our content responds to current events, so if you are curious about time-specific stories and work, find the right month and year:

Now, I will leave you to it, you have some reading to do!
