Calling all young writers, artists, and activists! The International Human Rights Art Festival is curating a digital anthology of youth writing and art on human rights and social justice. We are calling for young people 21 years and under to submit poetry, fiction, essays, journalism, visual art, photography, or any other medium that highlights the beauty and strength of humanity. You can choose to create a piece about a human rights issue/violation that is affecting the world, or something that highlights the beauty, sincerity, and vulnerability of our world. We want to highlight as many young voices as possible, so please submit as soon as you can!
We want to highlight the power and voices of the next generation in our fight for fairness and justice in our world. Today, in the midst of issues the like the COVID-19 Pandemic, the climate crisis, immigration injustice, continued racial oppression and the gun violence epidemic, the lack of attention for human rights is becoming abundantly clear and we must take action to ensure justice for all.
The International Human Rights Art Festival provides a forum to international artists whose voices can be overlooked, underrepresented and, in some cases, actively repressed. We offer live performances in all media; a literary magazine; a recording platform and a yearly International Fellowship. We work with politicians, government agencies, social leaders and celebrities. We believe that creative engagement with all members of the society is the surest path toward social justice and positive change.
