ITAC IMPACT: Climate Call for Teaching Artists

The International Teaching Artist Collaborative’s pioneering initiative—ITAC IMPACT: Climate—is NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS from teaching artists (also called participatory, community, citizen, or social practice artists) around the world with a passion for creating a participatory project with a community to combat climate change.

Between May – December 2021, five teaching artists will be invited to design and deliver projects in their local communities that change beliefs and behaviours in relation to climate change. The artists will be closely supported by our Science Ambassador (a climate expert) and a Curriculum Designer, who will develop an accessible online teaching artist curriculum based on the discoveries of, and methodologies used by, the commissioned artists in their projects. The artists will also have the support of one another as active members of the Climate Collective, which will facilitate peer-to-peer support and experiment with different engagement methods.

Selected by an International Advisory Panel, the participating teaching artists will benefit from:

  • Remuneration of up to £8,000 GBP

  • Support from the Climate Collective throughout the project

  • Guidance from the Science Ambassador – a climate expert who will inform the process

  • An online platform for work to be widely shared with other teaching artists

  • The opportunity to influence global public discourse on climate change

THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 12, 2021.
