Practitioners from around the world, working at the intersection of arts, education, and disability, are invited to join the new International Arts Education and Disability Justice Exchange.
The International Arts Education & Disability Justice Exchange, which will commence in March 2022, provides space for peer-to-peer networking and knowledge sharing among practitioners advancing both arts education and disability justice around the world. The exchange is connected with and supported by BIAESN and seeks to move the field of practice forward through regular meetings, documentation and publication of practices, and virtual spaces to exchange ideas, resources, and opportunities.
Throughout 2022, the Exchange plans to meet quarterly, and host speakers from around the world to share their work and how it advances the fields of arts education and disability justice. Throughout these meetings, the facilitators and documentarians will produce ‘case stories’ to capture and elevate the knowledge shared from participants in the exchange. Over time, these stories will be published and shared broadly to encourage a deeper understanding and advancement of strong practices in building the field of practice at the intersection of arts education and disability justice.
The first meeting of the International Exchange will occur on March 29th at 6:00pm ET (or 11:00pm UTC). During this first meeting, the International Exchange will hear from Jeffrey Tan and his work to document, advocate, and connect inclusive practice efforts and collaborate with the disabilities community across Asia (primarily in Singapore, Australia, Korea, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia). Read more about the project here.
By filling in the RSVP form below, you are indicating your interest in the first meeting of the Exchange and/or future events through the Exchange.
