The University of Florida (UF), the State Education Agency Directors of Arts Education (SEADAE) and Creative Generation are pleased to host the 2021 World Alliance for Arts Education (WAAE) Virtual World Summit, titled “Arts Impact: Context Matters” from October 11-15, 2021. This is the 10th World Summit on Arts Education.
The purpose of the summit is to bring together arts education professionals worldwide to share the latest research, thought, and practice in arts education assessment and evaluation. Primary and secondary school arts educators, higher education professionals, arts education researchers and policymakers, national, state and local education officials from around the globe will present ideas, learn together, and contribute to the development of a global framework for arts assessment.
“The sharing of ideas, building of community, and production of new knowledge is essential to the future of global arts education,” said Jeff M. Poulin, managing director of Creative Generation. “We, at Creative Generation, are thrilled to be supporting this endeavor in our continued relationship with WAAE, UF, and SEADAE after the successful Virtual Seminar in 2020.”
Creative Generation was founded in April 2019 as a research initiative and has expanded its work throughout the United States and around the world. Through pioneering research in the arts and cultural education – and the relentless support of arts and cultural educators in their work to cultivate the creative capabilities of young people – the organization regularly produces global and regional professional learning events.
Co-chairs Dr. Timothy Brophy, University of Florida, and Marcia McCaffrey, New Hampshire Department of Education add:
“We are pleased to provide a platform that brings together artist-educators from across the world to share global perspectives and ignite new possibilities for arts learning in various contexts through the examination of assessment and evaluation practices, policies, and research.”
