The World Alliance for Arts Education (WAAE) has discussed importance of arts education issues in annual international summits since 2006. Last month, the WAAE hosted a conference in Frankfurt, Germany where attendees from around the globe presented the latest research and resources and met to review UNESCO arts education policies and chart a plan for coming years of action.
Representatives from international associations like the International Drama Education Association (IDEA), The International Society for Education through Art (InSEA), the International Society for Music Education (ISME), and the World Dance Alliance (WDA) and experts from all parts of the world convened this international conference from October 28th to November 1st in 2019.
The convening produced the Frankfurt Declaration which calls on UNESCO to implement several items, including a third world congress to move the field forward since the production of the Seoul Agenda in 2010.
