Call for Blog Posts: What Does Unlearning Mean to You?

So far in our Creativity for Good campaign, we’ve touched on the ways artistic communities engaged with the social justice movement in protest art , the role of arts & cultural education in healing, global citizenship in the arts & cultural education field, and what mentorship looks like these days.

From now until the end of the year, we’ll be thinking about unlearning!

In addition to curricula and pedagogy, the arts & cultural education field must be thinking about topics like combating racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia; engaging with neurodivergent folks; the ways personal circumstances intersect with the arts, cultural, education, and social justice; and the myriad paths where the personal has become the political over the course of the last 18 months.

Definitions of “unlearning” range from interrogating systems of oppression, to learning something through unconventional means, to being guided by your own curiousity and we want to know what it means to you!

Each member of our team will share their take on unlearning on the blog and we want to hear from you, too! Take a look at our Learning Unlearning series and tell us how you’re rethinking the norms in arts & cultural education.

Submit your take via our blog submission form, or use the social media platform of your choice to tell us your story about unlearning and arts & cultural education. Make sure to tag @Campaign4GenC and use the hashtag #CreativityForGood!
