Young Creatives and Healing

Last month, I spoke about how my artistic community was engaging with the social justice movement in protest art. Over the subsequent weeks, we shared related stories and projects and asked you to share yours, as well.

This month, our theme is healing.

As some of us are getting vaccinated and arts organizations begin to look to the future and reopening, we want to explore the role the arts and arts & cultural education can play in our global recovery from the mental, emotional, social, and physical impacts of COVID-19 — and to investigate other ways that the arts have helped us heal that might inform our next steps, both as individuals and as a society.

As they did last month, the Creative Generation team jumped into action, sharing relevant articles and posts with me that we’ll be posting on our social channels for the next couple of weeks — and we have an excellent episode of the Why Change? Podcast coming next Wednesday, but I hope you’ll share with us, too!

Use the social media platform of your choice to tell us your story about how the arts and arts & cultural education have helped people and communities heal. You can tweet a link to an article, post a pick of your current work in progress on IG, share a facebook post, or tag a friend on LinkedIn — whatever you like! — just make sure to tag @Campaign4GenC and use the hashtag #CreativityForGood.

I can’t wait to get inspired by what you’re working on and to share everyones’s stories!
