What's this all about?
Earlier this year the ITAC Collaborative invited proposals for field building projects from leaders throughout our international community. Each selected project represents a significant step forward in adding tools, resources and frameworks that can be used by our sector internationally. As part of their work, some of our Innovators are looking to recruit a few helpful colleagues who will volunteer to join their advisory board. The time is now right for our first project to take that step.
The project:
This Knowledge Sharing and Digital Learning Project will address the gap in research and resources produced by and for the field of teaching artistry. The project will engage volunteers in the teaching artist field from a cross-section of countries to collect, validate, and disseminate tools, resources, and creative/scholarly research in a number of capacities. These include retrofitting the existing knowledge shared through the 2019 Think Tanks, building each into a digital learning module; cataloguing, publishing and disseminating research and resources shared through the 2018 and 2020 ITAC conferences; and devising a sustainable and scalable framework for a clearinghouse of new tools and resources created by and for the field of teaching artistry to be located within ITAC’s digital platform.
How can you help?
We are seeking a small team to contribute to and advise on the creation and publications of three distinct products:
Online Learning Modules: Derived from past (and future) Think Tanks, this committee will integrate existing video presentation recordings into multi-modal online learning modules, which will include additional materials to help asynchronous learners dive deep into the content.
2018 & 2020 Yearbook of Teaching Artist Research and Practice:By leveraging the presentations at ITAC4 NYC and ITAC5, this committee will act as the de facto editorial board to solicit submissions, edit, and produce a digital collection of the numerous papers, resources, and tools shared at the global convenings.
ITAC Clearinghouse: Through a digital platform located on itac-collaborative.com, the committee will develop a framework to support the intake and dissemination of items to create a databank of tools, resources, and scholarly & creative works created for and by teaching artists.
What skills do you need?
We are seeking individuals with the necessary skills and previous experience to document and distill knowledge, craft adult-centered learning experiences, and frame systems and approaches to catalogue complex information. Some of the skills and experiences, you might think about:
Writing scholarly papers or editing publications
Creating courses or multi-stage professional development experiences
Producing webinars or other online learning platforms
Conducting original research or peer-reviewed publications
Synthesizing large amounts of information and translating for multiple audiences
Creating a website or online hub to connect users with products
What's the commitment?
We plan for this advisory group to meet via online Zoom video call once per month from July 2020 – June 2021. In between monthly meetings, we expect between 2-4 hours of independent, asynchronous work to contribute to the large projects of the group, provide feedback, edit documents, or contribute in ways unforeseen at this time.
