What do we experience when we dance together, and how does this impact our social, emotional and physical wellbeing? Why is participation in inclusive dance practices so important for diverse communities? How can pedagogical approaches, indigenous practices, and innovative uses of technology support inclusion within dance?
The Dance, Inclusion and Wellbeing Symposium seeks to address these questions through a shared series of conversations exploring pedagogy, engagement, indigenous practices, wellbeing, and connection in a Covid-19 era across diverse social and cultural dance contexts.
The conference committee invites proposals from dance researchers and practitioners working with diverse communities, to contribute reflective conversations between themselves and a member of their relevant dance community that connect with the above topics. Each conversation will contribute to a digital programme of four 20-minute conversations presented live on each day of the symposium. The online presentations will take place daily, 3.00-5.30pm (NZDT) Tuesday 30 November - Friday 3 December 2021.
