Arts Schools Network (ASN) and Creative Generation are pleased to announce their new partnership to produce the ASN annual conference and a series of ongoing webinars as a component of ASN’s work supporting arts schools leaders throughout the United States by developing high quality professional learning experiences.
Through November, ASN has engaged Creative Generation to help produce a multi-day virtual convening as the ASN Annual Conference 2020. This gathering will feature sessions focused on myriad topics including leadership development, racial/social justice, COVID-19 adaptations, and much more. Harnessing the knowledge from the network of arts school leaders around the country, the conference sessions, keynotes, student performances, and social events will work to connect and inspire attendees to lead powerful programs benefitting the next generation of artists in their schools across the United States.
From November - June 2021, the two organizations will curate and produce an ongoing series of monthly webinars aimed at increasing timely and relevant knowledge of ASN members.
“We know the power of arts schools in instilling the artistry, creativity, and global citizenship in the development of the next generation of artists and leaders,” said Jeff M. Poulin, managing director of Creative Generation. “These high-quality professional learning experiences will support arts school leaders through an unprecedented time; and we are honored to be a part of this work.”
Creative Generation was founded in April 2019 as a research initiative and has grown its work throughout the United States and around the world. Through pioneering research in the arts and cultural education field – and the relentless support of arts and cultural educators in their work to cultivate the creative capabilities of young people – the organization regularly leads professional learning initiatives through its Academy for Creative Leadership.
”Arts Schools Network is thrilled to engage Creative Generation as a thought partner to execute our annual conference this year,” said Melissa Brookes, managing director of ASN. “Jeff M. Poulin and his team are professionals who understand the importance of the arts and supporting the educators who are on the front lines. This year’s conference digs deep into the heart of the challenges we face as schools and as a nation, and we look forward to supporting our members, constituents, and friends through this new conference format.”
The ASN learning events annually brings together the innovative, informative, and inquisitive arts school leaders to network, share, learn, and recognize excellence among their peers.
