The Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs (BIAESN) and Creative Generation are pleased to announce their continued relationship to produce the 2021 ABLE Assembly: Arts Better the Lives of Everyone Conference, which delivers high-quality professional learning experiences for arts educators working with students with disabilities.
From April 10-11, 2021, the ABLE Assembly Conference will continue its legacy as an exceptional professional development opportunity in the fields of arts education and special needs, bringing together educators, artists, researchers, policy-makers, school administrators, program administrators, and students to share best practices, engage in hands-on experiences, explore new research, and learn from each other. The event is open to the public.
“We believe arts and cultural education is a human right and educators are the essential element to deliver on that promise, especially for students with disabilities,” said Jeff M. Poulin, managing director of Creative Generation. “We, at Creative Generation, are pleased to again support this premiere professional learning opportunity and spend time in community with this fantastic group of practitioners bridging the sectors of arts and special education.”
Creative Generation was founded in April 2019 as a research initiative and has grown its work throughout the United States and around the world. Through pioneering research in the arts and cultural education field – and the relentless support of arts and cultural educators in their work to cultivate the creative capabilities of young people – the organization regularly leads professional learning initiatives through its Academy for Creative Leadership.
“As an online event, the ABLE Assembly Conference is truly accessible for all,” said Rhoda Bernard, managing director of the BIAESN. “Educators, researchers, artists, students, and advocates from around the world can convene, learn, and share from their homes or offices, can engage with every presentation, and can make connections with others. We cannot wait to bring people together for this extraordinary professional learning opportunity.”
Sponsored by the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs, which opened its doors in September 2017, the ABLE Assembly Conference promises to be an exceptional professional development opportunity in the field of arts education and special needs, bringing together educators, artists, researchers, policy-makers, school administrators, program administrators, and students to share best practices, engage in hands-on experiences, explore new research, and learn from each other. The event is open to the public.
