By: André Solomon
The first episode features Jeff M. Poulin and André Solomon from Creative Generation, who speak with our host Courtney J. Boddie from the Teaching Artistry with Courtney J. Boddie podcast to answer questions and share aspirations regarding the video series. In addition, Courtney discusses her intentions for starting this new venture, which focuses on the journies of artists, educators, and community activists as they raise their consciousness in anti-racist, liberatory, and intersectional feminist practices through the arts.
As you’ll hear, André reaffirms the notion “We Won’t Go Back, We Can’t Go Back.” It amplifies the importance of examining, interrogating, and confronting racist policies and systems founded in oppression and White Supremacy to reconstruct the infrastructure of arts and culture to drive radical change in communities.
Join us next week when Courtney interviews Chesney Snow, a Drama Desk Award-winning, NYC-based theater artist, poet, songwriter, educator, life-long student, and one of New York's premier human beatbox/vocal percussionists and a pioneering figure in American beatbox culture.
