Youths involved in arts and culture can apply for funds from the Sarawak Youth Creative Industry Fund to develop their talents and add value to their programmes.
State Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the fund was set up in 2018 to assist youths in organising arts and culture programmes, particularly music, film, drama and theatre.
Abdul Karim says the state Youth and Sports Ministry has only been able to carry out a handful of its planned programmes this year.
The fund is open to Sarawakians and Malaysians aged 15 to 40, who can apply as individuals, groups or associations.
“We hope those with creative skills will come forward if they are in need of funds for their programmes, ” Abdul Karim said, adding that it was not meant for business or entrepreneurship purposes.
