The Department of Music Studies and the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in collaboration with the Departments of Physical Education and Sport Science, Primary Education and Educational Studies, are delighted to invite artists, researchers, educators, practitioners of Arts Education to participate in the 2024 WAAE SUMMIT on “ARTS, NATURE, TECHNOLOGY, EDUCATION: HARMONY IN UNITY”.
The conference will delve into the dynamic relationship between the arts, nature, technology, and education, exploring their synergies through innovative research and practice, aiming to transform and re-orient the educational experience.

Creative Baggage was founded in May 2020 by Serena Huang and Bailey Spiteri as a podcast giving voice to the struggles of pursuing a career in the arts. Having graduated into the pandemic with degrees in music performance, the pair published a variety of conversations exploring what it means to be a creative in this day and age, featuring their peers and prominent figures in the industry. In September of 2021, the CB team was invited to host a live podcast event at the University of Maryland's NextNOW Fest, where they facilitated and recorded discussions surrounding creativity with students of all backgrounds.

NAEA Town Hall: Connected Arts Networks (CAN) Professional Learning Communities Recruitment

CAN is a multi-year grant initiative creating nationwide virtual Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) with educators in visual/media arts, music, theatre, and dance. CAN’s purpose is to build a sustainable model of professional learning for arts educators in public schools and public charters to strengthen their pedagogy, instruction, and leadership skills to better serve students.

Foundwork Artist Prize

The Foundwork Artist Prize is an annual juried award that we started in 2019 to recognize outstanding emerging and mid-career artists working in any media. Honorees receive unrestricted $10,000 grants and studio visits with our jurors who include distinguished curators, gallerists, and artists. Honorees and shortlisted artists are also invited for interviews as part of our Dialogues program to further public engagement with their practices. The Prize is open to artists residing anywhere in the world with limited exceptions, and our annual selection process takes place each fall.
