Florida Alliance for Arts Education and Creative Generation Pilot Leadership Training Program

The Florida Alliance for Arts Education (FAAE) and Creative Generation are pleased to announce their new collaboration to pilot the “Creative Leadership Training” program to commence at FAAE’s conference from September 23-25, 2021 in Ft. Myers, FL and conclude in Fall 2022.   Through this work, the two organizations hope to build skills in the next generation of arts education leaders in the State of Florida and refine the certificate program design.

This program utilizes a curricular framework derived from a 2020 study commissioned by the World Alliance for Arts Education and conducted by Creative Generation, titled “Reorienting Leadership in Arts and Cultural Education.”

“Reimagining the pipelines to leadership is so critical in the current moment of the arts education field,” said Jeff M. Poulin, managing director of Creative Generation. “We, at Creative Generation, are excited to collaborate with FAAE to disrupt problematic cycles of leadership development and move towards new ideals.”

Creative Generation was founded in April 2019 as a research initiative and has grown its work throughout the United States and around the world. Through pioneering research in the arts and cultural education field – and the relentless support of arts and cultural educators in their work to cultivate the creative capabilities of young people – the organization regularly conducts original research and creates curricular frameworks for shared delivery with collaborators around the world.

“Creative Generation is a global leader innovating in the arts education field,” said Caroll Vick, secretary of the Board of FAAE. “We are incredibly excited that our partnership allows for educators across Florida to be able to benefit from this program.”
